Commitment to Confidentiality, Impartiality and Independence
The commitments regarding confidentiality, impartiality and independence, determined by the ASB Partners Board at its meeting dated 24.09.2025, are stated below.
ASB undertakes the following principles in all certification activities:
- ASB senior management, personnel and individuals acting on behalf of ASB shall operate free from any commercial, financial or other pressures that could influence the results of certification activities.
- System certification activities shall be conducted independently, impartially and objectively, without influence from any interested party.
- ASB employees, auditors, technical experts and any individuals acting on behalf of ASB shall not provide consultancy services to organizations that are certified or seeking certification.
- ASB and its personnel shall not participate in activities that could compromise the independence or impartiality of certification activities.
- All personnel shall avoid any behavior that could damage the credibility and reputation of ASB or organizations seeking certification.
- Within the scope of certification and audit activities, evaluations shall be conducted objectively and without bias, and any form of discrimination, prejudice or intolerance shall not be tolerated.
- Committees involved in certification processes (Certification Committee, Impartiality Committee, Objection and Complaint Committee, Appointment Committee and Planning Committee) shall perform their duties independently and free from any commercial or financial pressure.
- No organization shall receive preferential treatment, information or guidance for the purpose of obtaining certification services.
- Certification services shall be accessible to all applicants within the scope of ASB activities. No unnecessary financial or administrative conditions shall be imposed and all applicable rules shall be applied without discrimination.
- At all levels of the organization, including committees and individuals acting on behalf of ASB, the confidentiality of information obtained during certification activities shall be protected in accordance with applicable accreditation rules, laws and regulations.
- Information related to a certified organization or its activities shall not be disclosed to third parties without the written consent of the organization, except where disclosure is required by law, regulation or accreditation requirements.
- In cases where information must be disclosed due to legal or regulatory obligations, the certified organization shall be informed accordingly.
- All documents, records and information belonging to organizations shall be maintained securely and treated as confidential.
- Certification services provided by ASB shall be valid within the scope of applicable accreditation and international recognition arrangements.
- ASB shall maintain the financial resources necessary to sustain certification activities and ensure the continuity and reliability of the certification system.
- Organizations owned by ASB or having a relationship that could compromise impartiality shall not be certified.
- Access to certification services shall not depend on the size of the organization, membership in any association or group, or the number of already certified organizations.
- No privileges shall be granted to any association, organization or group with which ASB owners or personnel are affiliated.
- Organizations shall be informed accurately and transparently regarding certification requirements, and services shall be provided independently, impartially and in a timely manner.
- ASB confirms that a Conflict of Interest and Impartiality Risk Analysis has been conducted and that this analysis will be reviewed periodically and whenever necessary.
