ISO 27701:2019 / Amd 1:2024

ISO 20000-1:2018 / Amd 1:2024

The standards have been published.

Changed provisions;
4.1 The organization shall determine whether climate change is a relevant issue.
This regulation requires organizations to actively assess the impacts of climate change on their operations and to ensure that their quality management systems are resilient and compliant with environmental challenges.

4.2 Note: Interested parties may have requirements related to climate change.
This note emphasizes that organizations should be aware of all requirements related to climate change or expectations from stakeholders, respond to them, and further integrate environmental considerations into the quality management process.

Impacts on organizations
Certified organizations must ensure that they consider climate change elements and risks within the development, maintenance, and effectiveness of their management systems.

Climate change, along with other issues, should be determined whether it is relevant, and if so, it should be evaluated within the risk assessment scope of management system standards.
In cases where an organization operates multiple management systems, if relevant, climate change should be evaluated within each management system standard.
While considering climate change issues and risks, the organization must decide whether climate change is relevant to the company, and if so, it should be addressed within a risk assessment scope of management system standards.
Attention should be paid to specific sectors (e.g., energy production, agriculture, and fisheries) and the characteristics of the organization (e.g., geographic location, supply chain structure, or workforce dynamics).
Thus, certified organizations are required to address climate change issues in accordance with articles 4 and 6 of the management system standards.
